The extradition of Ramil Safarov to Azerbaijan caused indignation
not only in Armenia, but also among Armenian communities throughout
    the world.

Armenia's Ministry of Diaspora reports that protests were organized
in all the CIS member-states. Well-known Armenians in many cities
voiced their opinions on the latest developments.

Ara Abrahamyan, Chairman of the Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR),
made a statement expressing his concern over Russian officials'
silence. He noted that Russia should have been the first to respond.

The Armenian youth organizations in the Krasnodar region joined the
UAR president's statement. A number of Russian NGOs and media outlets
    issued statements as well.

Armenians also staged protests in Perm, Rostov, Kuban, Simferopol,
Nizhni Novgorod, Sochi, and other cities.

In Kiev, capital of Ukraine, Armenians and representatives of other
national minorities held a protest in front of the Hungarian Embassy.

Armenians in Georgia's capital Tbilisi held a protest. The Union of
Javakh Armenians in Russia issued a strongly worded statement.

"Shame on the corrupt European states that show their tacit approval
to the sale of European values," says the statement.

Armenians in Moscow plans to hold a large-scale protest on September
    14.
