CONCERT TO BE HELD IN REPUBLIC SQUARE DEVOTED TO ARMENIAN CHESS OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS: On September 10 a concert will be
held in the Republic Square in Yerevan devoted to the Armenian Chess
Olympic champions.
As Armenpress was informed by the Ministry of Culture, right upon
the arrival of our chess players an official concert, devoted to the
victory of the Armenian team in the 40th World Olympiad, will start.
The official meeting ceremony of the Olympic champions will take
place in "Zvartnots" Airport at 20:00.
By the Yerevan Mayor decree on the occasion of the victory of the
Armenian Chess Men team the capital of Armenia will be brought to
festive appearance.
The 40th World Chess Olympiad took place in Istanbul, Turkey. By the
final results of the 11 rounds the Armenian Chess Men team achieved
the Chess Olympus for the third time. The second place is occupied
by the Russian team. Armenia's "golden" team has participated in the
World Olympiads since 1992. Armenians were the best players in 2006
in Turin and 2008 in Dresden Olympiads. The chess team of Armenia is
one of the exceptional teams, which managed to become an incessant
Olympic champion twice.
