Armenian chess player Levon Aronian, member of Armenia's male chess
team, the winner of World Chess Olympiad for already the third time,
spoke with armsport before arriving back to Armenia.
Speaking about his impressions, Aronian said, "We all were dreaming
of victory. It was important for us to make Istanbul Armenians feel
proud. I am happy that we reached our goal."
"The inspiring thing is that with this victory we make Armenians
feel joy. We felt it brighter after Turin Olympiad in 2006. Seeing
the joy of Armenians, we felt obliged to win in future as well,"
he said in an interview.
The next Olympiad in 2016 will be held in Baku. Asked whether Armenia's
participation in it is possible, Aronian said it is a complicated
issue. "As of the moment, yes, of course, it is impossible. But if
during these years the countries will manage to find common language,
the decision may change. As of the moment, I do not see any possibility
to participate in 2016 Olympiad," he said.
