    OLYMPIC TRIPLE CHAMPIONS GET CONGRATULATIONS FROM CHESS GIANT PLAYERS

    YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS: World chess most famous
    representatives came forth with statements pertain to Armenian
    men chess victory scored in Istanbul World Chess 40th Olympiad. As
    Armenpress reports the first respond came from Russian GM Sergey
    Karjakin who posted in his Twitter page he warmly congratulates
    Armenian team. " We cared no efforts. Best congratulations to Armenain
    men and our women teams" Karjakin wrote.

    According to Azerbaijani men chess team chief coach Vladimir Tukmakov
    the failure of Azerbaijani team was conditioned by the scarce number of
    chess players in the team. "Reportedly we hankered for better scores,
    yet if we take into consideration the current capacities of Azerbaijani
    team, we needed more lot , which is surely is not due to the boards
    but the good play. We lacked stimuli" Tukmakov justified. Azerbaijani
    team held the 10th place in Istanbul launched Olympiad.

    The 40th Chess Olympiad took place in Istanbul, Turkey 27th August
    (Opening 28th R1) to 9th September 2012. Armenia won the title for
    the 3rd time in 4 attempts after defeating Hungary in the final round.

    Russia holding the second place failed to score Olympic champion
    title since 2002. Armenia has been participating in World Olympiad
    started 1992. In the course of these twenty years our team has won
    bronze medals for three times. The latest bronze medal of Armenian
    teams was recorded in 2004, in the championship hosted in Spain,
    Calvia. Then the "golden era " of our team declared its launch,
    subsequently in the championship of 2006( Turin), and 2008 ( Drezden
    ) . Armenian chess team was one of the unique teams that managed to
    become Olympic champion two times incessant.

    Armenian Chess team comprised three Olympic declared champions Levon
    Aronyan, Vladimir Akobyan and Gabriel Sargsyan, twice champion Tigran
    Petrosian and Sergey Movsisyan once declared champion. Armenia's
    national team head coach was GM Arshak Petrosyan.
