ARMENIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTS DETAILS OF AZERBAIJANI-HUNGARIAN DEAL TO THE LEBANESE PRESIDENT

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 11, ARMENPRESS: On September 10 the Armenian
Ambassador to Lebanon Ashot Kocharyan was accepted by the President
of Lebanon Michel Suleiman.
As Armenpress was informed by the press, information and PR agency at
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, bilateral
relations and related issues had been discussed at the meeting.
Particularly the close bilateral cooperation in international
organizations was highlighted. In this context the Ambassador Kocharyan
announced about the Armenian Government's gratitude to the Lebanese
party for close cooperation and continuous assistance in the framework
of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement. He stressed the necessity for
high-level official bilateral visits and economic relations activation.
The Armenian Ambassador presented the Lebanese President Suleiman
details on the Azerbaijani perpetrator Ramil Safarov's extradition
from Hungary to Azerbaijan and his pardoning and giving him a "national
hero" by the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Ashot Kocharyan informed that Armenia suspended diplomatic relations
and official bounds with Hungary. The Ambassador stressed that many
countries and the international community condemn and express their
deep concern about the Hungarian-Azerbaijani scandalous deal and the
Armenians worldwide organize protest actions in different countries,
including Beirut, in front of the Hungarian Embassy building.
The President Suleiman received the information with understanding and
expressed hope that negotiations concerning the peaceful regulation
of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue will be continued. He asked the Armenian
Ambassador to pass his warm congratulations to the Armenian President
in connection with the victory of the Armenian National Chess team
in the World Chess Olympiad.
On the same day the Armenian Ambassador Ashot Kocharyan met the
President of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri, whom as well
he presented the details of the Hungarian-Azerbaijani deal. The
Ambassador Kocharyan informed about the special session held by the
Armenian National Assembly (NA) on September 5. The Ambassador Berri
was handed the announcement adopted by the Armenian NA.
