Armenia
Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan called some
allegedly "balanced" statements on Safarov's case "unacceptable" today.
Receiving EU Special Representative Philip Lefort, Serzh Sargsyan
thanked numerous countries and various international organizations
including a number of European structures for their unequivocal
statements strongly condemning the steps taken by the Azerbaijani
authorities to pardon and making murderer Safarov a hero.
At the same time, the President considered unacceptable and unclear
some statements allegedly "balanced" but in fact absolutely inadequate
for such a horrible act. According to Serzh Sargsyan, making the
murderer a hero by the Azerbaijani authorities deserves unconditional
condemnation especially by the European partners.
The EU Special Representative noted that after the meeting with the
Armenian leader, he will set off to Baku where he expects to get
explanations from the Azerbaijani authorities.
Philip Lefort stressed that the EU condemns the step which undermines
trust between the sides of Karabakh conflict.
