BAKO SAHAKYAN RECEIVES SPACEMEN

On 16 September, President of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic
Bako Sahakyan received the participants of the conference "Man and
the Space" - professor of the Institute of Astrophysics of Canary
Islands and European Northern Observatory Gagik Israelyan, famous
astronauts Charles Duke (USA) and Claude Nicollier (Switzerland).
President Bako Sahakyan expressed his gratitude to the famous
scientists and astronauts for attending the important event, which,
he said, would greatly contribute to the development of science
in Artsakh.
The guests, in their turn, expressed satisfaction with the fact that
the first conference held in memory of the world-famous astronaut
Neil Armstrong was held in Artsakh.
Issues related to the development of exact sciences and organizing
different international scientific events in Artsakh were discussed
as well.
NKR acting minister of education and science Vladik Khachatryan and
other officials partook at the meeting, Artsakh President's Press
Office reports.
