ARMENIAN ACTUARIES DEEPENED THEIR KNOWLEDGES IN FUNDED PENSION SYSTEM

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS: The Armenian actuaries deepen their
knowledges in the field of funded pension system. 14 Armenian actuaries
were granted certificates for participation in the actuary trainings,
organized within the framework of the Pension and Labor Market Reform
Program of the United States Agency for International Development
(USAID).
The program aims at presenting the Armenian specialists the
most important actuary issues of the payment stage of the funded
pension system, the newest methods of possible risks evaluation and
calculation, as well as the rules of ethics and professional conduct.
As Armenpress was informed by the President of the Actuarial Society
of Armenia Astghik Ananyan, except for the theoretical part, practical
approach as well was carried out within the program's framework. "The
memorandum signed in the end of the courses will witness about our
cooperation. I think, we should provide for the continuation of the
training courses in the future", - said the President of the Actuarial
Society of Armenia.
According to the USAID Adviser on Pension and Labor Market Reform
Program Susanna Karapetyan, the activities of actuaries are conditioned
by a lot of uncertainties and risks emerged in the running stage of
the funded pension. "Armenia lacks the necessary specialists in new
pension system as the system is still in immature level", - said
Susanna Karapetyan.
The aim of the Pension and Labor Market Reform Program of the United
States Agency for International Development is to assist the pension
and labor market reforms process in Armenia.
