The Kremlin has reportedly refused to comment on the reasons behind
the Russian President Vladimir Putin's cancelled visit to Armenia.
The paper yesterday contacted the spokesperson of the Russian leader
reminding him of an earlier statement made by Kostantin Zatulin, the
director of the CIS Institute, who had announced that Putin is due to
Yerevan in September.
But the spokesperson reportedly declined to give any comment. `We
can't tell you anything as to why the visit didn't take place,' he was
quoted as saying.
The paper says that the plans for Putin's visit have been discussed
since late May, with different timeframes being announced. Zatulin was
later reported as saying that certain arrangement swere being made for
the state visit, comments the paper.
