ADB funds $250 million road improvements project in Armenia
The project will be undertaken in three phases. The works under phase
I involve improvements on 38km of roads on the Yerevan to Ararat
four-lane highway including the provision of barriers, road lighting,
and pedestrian areas.
The works under phase II involve the reconstruction of a 12-km stretch
of the Yerevan to Ashtarak road, improve drainage, rebuild bridges and
resurface the road with concrete. The two phases are expected to cost
$70.4 million to be completed.
The works under phase III involve widening and reconstruction of a
42-km stretch of the Ashtarak to Talin road. The final phase is
expected to cost $179.6 million to be completed.
