Actress Hrachuhi Jinanyan passes away at 91

Hrachuhi A. Jinanyan, Honorary Citizen of Yerevan, People's Artist of
the Armenian SSR, TV announcer and beloved actress died after a long
illness at the age of 91.
Hrachuhi Jinanyan was born in Kostandnupolis in November 1919. In
1925, she immigrated to the Soviet Armenia. In 1936-41, she studied in
the Faculty of Philology atYerevan State University. Since 1941, she
had been working in the Public Radio of Armenia as an announcer, later
as an editor and director.
Since the inauguration of Yerevan State Institute of Theatrical Arts
in 2002, Hrachuhi Jinanyan had been engaged in educational activity
and headed one of the chairs of the Institute. The actress received
numerous commendations and state awards.
By a decision of Prime Minister Tigram Sargsyan, a funeral committee
led by Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan has been established in
connection with Hrachuhi Jinanyan's death.
