The Armenian authorities have done their best to chill people's
gaiety for independence, member of the Armenian National Congress, the
leader of the Armenian National Movement Aram Manukyan said in an
interview with ArmInfo.
"In order to see what we have actually done in the past years, you
just need to walk around Yerevan and to look into people's eyes. You
will see no sign of holiday. In normal countries independence day is a
real holiday with lots of concerts, exhibitions, festivals and people
with happy faces. In our country you will see no such things and in
the faces of our people you will see sadness and no hope. But they
must not be sad, they must remember that there is an end to any
regime, while the idea of independence is endless," Manukyan said.
