Pilots protest in Yerevan
About 20 pilots from the state corporation Armenian Airlines, which
went bankrupt in 2003, have protested in front of the Armenian
president's residence.
According to News.am, pilots with professional illnesses are demanding
compensation for the last six years.
When Armenian airlines went bankrupt in April 2003 there were 108
disabled Armenian pilots with professional illnesses that worked in
civil aviation. They need the compensation amounting to 60%-70% of
their salaries.
"We still haven't received anything," one of the protesters said. He
added that, together with his former colleageus (now there are only 69
of them), he had lodged appeals. They decided to hold demonstrations
every Friday.
