YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS: Russian Federation accused European
Parliament in interfering in their internal affairs. Russian Ministry
of Foreign Affairs responded to the suggestion of a group of European
Parliement deputies to award a Sakharov Prize for "Freedom of Thought"
establish by European Parliament in 1988 to punk band Pussy Riot.
Armenpress reports citing "American Voice" Russian service.
Konstantin Dolgov, responsible for human rights and democracy declared
that he hoped that the suggestion of European Parliament wouldn't be
accepted. The members of Russian punk band Pussy Riot were charged
with hooliganism after performing a protest song in Moscow's Christ
the Saviour cathedral in February.
