YEREVAN. - The public opinion poll conducted by Aharon Adibekyan on a
sole presidential candidate by the opposition is ridicule, opposition
Armenian National Congress (ANC) bloc member Petros Makeyan told
Armenian News-NEWS.am.
According to the poll, 30.4 percent named Prosperous Armenia Party
(PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan as the most likely candidate for
the opposition, while 10.1 named Armenia's second President Robert
Kocharyan, 8.7 named Heritage party leader Raffi Hovannisian, 4 percent
named ANC bloc leader, First President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan,
3.4 and 2.5 percent named ARF Dashnaktsutyun Vahan Hovhannisyan and
Armen Rustamyan members respectively as most likely presidential
candidates of opposition.
"The poll undoubtedly is made up by the President's Administration. I
do not understand why Tsarukyan is among the opposition. He called
himself an alternative, whereas it is not clear, the alternative to
what he is" Makeyan said.
