Ex-urban development minister Vardan Vardanyan said he considers the
quality of reconstruction of Armenia's National Library satisfactory.
"In any case the reconstruction has not ended yet and the work has
not been handed over. Let them study it well. Everything will be
clear afterwards," the minister said, speaking to Tert.am.
After a consultation at the government chaired by Armenia's
president, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan assigned incumbent urban
development minister Samvel Tadevosyan to report on 2008-2011 works of
reconstruction of the National Library, for which 700 million Armenian
drams were allocated from the state budget. After listening to the
report on incomplete works, violations, the Prime Minister instructed
to gather necessary materials and submit them to law enforcers for
studying them.
Since then the media outlets are alarming about 'black clouds above
ex-urban development minister.'
The ex-minister described the comments as lies and noted that he is
going to give his own comments on the matter.
Vardanyan refuted possibility of political motivation, describing
what happened as a result of unawareness of the materials of the case.
