RECONSTRUCTION OF TOWER BUILT 1000 YEARS AGO BY ARMENIAN MASTERS COMPLETED IN TURKISH URFA

The reconstruction of Mahmutoglu tower built by the Armenian architects
in 1122-1123 has been completed in Å~^anlıurfa (Urfa), Turkey. The
tower has been reconstructed with the order of the town's municipality.
The reconstruction of the 1000-year old tower lasted for two years.
Currently, the reconstructed tower will serve as history museum of
the town. It is considered the only standing tower of Urfa.
Armenian writs are seen in the eastern side of the tower. The writ
tells about the builders of the tower.
