Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan has delivered a speech
in Los Angeles World Affairs Center.
The press service of Armenia's Foreign Ministry reports that Nalbandyan
presented the key priorities of Armenia's foreign policy, Armenian-US
relations, the major problems in the South Caucasus and Armenia's
efforts to solve them.
Concerning the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, Nalbandyan said that
the world community shares Armenia's position and wants to resolve the
conflict peacefully, but Azerbaijan keeps jeopardizing stability in
the region by making anti-Armenian statements, breaking the cease-fire
regime and destroying Armenian cultural monuments. He said that the
Azeri authorities ignore the world community's urges to stop their
anti-Armenian hysteria and keep acting contrary to global values.
One example is the release of Ramil Safarov, an Azeri officer who
brutally killed an Armenian counterpart.
Nalbandyan said that no single country in the world has approved of
Azerbaijan's step. The world is unanimous in its criticism but the
Azeri authorities are not sorry and continue insisting that what they
did was in line with the international law.
According to Nalbandyan, Azerbaijan's step was one more attempt to
wreck the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, but Armenia will continue
its efforts to resolve the conflict peacefully.
