DEPUTY OF CANADIAN PARLIAMENT CONDEMNED AZERBAIJANI ACTIONS OVER SAFAROV'S CASE

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS: A meeting with public was held in
Armenian Cultural Centre in Canada on September 23 with participation
of Deputy of Canadian Parliament Jim Karygiannis. During the meeting
the deputy mainly presented his impressions on NKR presidential
elections which he at attended as a poll watcher. As Armenpress
was informed from NKR MFA press service Karygiannis noted that the
elections were held on a high level and Artsakh could be a good
example from that point for many countries. Robert Avetisian NKR
representative in USA and Canada made a speech and afterwards answered
to the questions on the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh issue. They
also referred to the extradition of Safarov and his pardon granting.
NKR representative hoped that international community would develop
principled position concerning not only Safarov's case but also whole
Azerbaijani policy.
Jim Karygiannis in his turn condemned the actions of Azerbaijan and
promised to do everything for Canadian political framework to be more
informed about Artaskh and current situation within it.
