The infertility rate has grown while the causes still remain the same,
gynecologist Georgi Poghosyan told the reporters today.
He stressed that if years ago the main causes of infertility were
infections, inflammatory processes, currently they have been driven
to second plan, conceding to endocrine disturbances mainly connected
with stresses.
"The cases of miscarriages have also grown in number, again due to
stresses. Today the generation that lived during the dark years,
not having normal food, not having rest during summer, not having
electricity gives birth. Now we have cases when viruses raise their
heads and the resistance level goes down," Poghosyan said.
Speaking about men's infertility the gynecologist said very often
their sperm is harmed because of stresses.
"The bad sexual life that starts from the beginning of the marriage
called debut impotence also causes problems. Psychological factor
plays a significant role here," he said.
Poghosyan claims before marriage the couple should be examined to
avoid possible infections.
Sexologist Vrezh Shahramanyan said the increase of infertility rate
is agreed with outgoing work as well. "The men have casual sexual
relations abroad and infect their wives after returning," he said.
Sexologist said the 12% of infertile men have sexual problems too.
