PanARMENIAN.Net - Immigration plays an important role in Armenia's
economic development, with 5000 Armenians who resolve to immigrate to
RA ensuring 2% economic growth, representative of the
newly-established `Repatriation to Armenia' foundation Avetik
Chalabyan said.
Another foundation representative Sam Samuelyan stressed the need of
creating favorable conditions in RA to ensure Diaspora Armenians'
successful return and integration into Armenia's society, in the face
of the tensions in the Middle East.
Mr. Chalabyan, in turn, voiced hope that cooperation with the
government will yield tangible positive results, despite the small
number of Armenians.
`Though the number of emigrants exceeds that of immigrants, we
consider the establishment of the foundation an appropriate step,
given current developments in Syria,' Mr. Chalabyan said.
