Armenia's national carrier, Armavia, has suspended all operations,
after filing for bankruptcy.
According to the carrier, it has suffered financial problems over
the past three years, mainly due to the world's economic crisis,
The Australian reported.
"Over the last three years, the owner of Armavia airline has been
investing finances from other businesses in order to support the air
carrier," Armavia said in a statement.
"However, the current situation makes it impossible to continue
working this way."
Russia's aviation authority has said the airline owes up to US$1.3
million to airports in Russia.
Armavia was founded in 1996 and operates one Airbus A320, three Boeing
737 and four medium-range planes to nearly 48 destinations in Europe,
