"WHOEVER COMES TO POWER IN IRAN WILL OPPOSE ISRAEL AND THE U.S."
Thursday,
April 04
"The election of a new president in Iran will not affect relations
with Armenia because Iran's spiritual leader is the main player in
its foreign policy. Whoever comes to power will oppose Israel and the
Unites States and establish good-neighborly relations with Russia,
Armenia, and Syria," expert on Iran Gohar Iskandarian stated at a
meeting with journalists today.
In her words, the passivity observed in Armenian-Iranian relations
has to do with the economic crisis in Iran, but losing a friendly
state would not be advantageous to Iran.
Speaking about Iran's domestic political life, Gohar Iskandarian
expressed an opinion that if those discontented with the current
authorities unite, new ferment may start in Iran.
The presidential election in Iran will be held on June 14, 2013.
