19:46, 5 April, 2013
YEREVAN, APRIL 5, ARMENPRESS: USAID Enterprise Development and
Market Competitiveness (EDMC) Project and "Women's Forum" public
organization will hold a forum of Armenian and Turkish businesswomen
in Yerevan. As reports Armenpress, goal of the forum is to present
Armenian business environment, tax and customs systems to Turkish
businesswomen. It is also aimed at providing them with opportunity
of establishing business ties in order to promote the establishment
of trade and economic relations between the two states.
Representatives of Armenian Development Agency, Small and Medium
Entrepreneurship Development National Center, State Revenue Committee
and other institutions will deliver speeches during the forum.
25 Armenian businesswomen will participate in the forum titled
"Establishment of Economic and Trade Ties" taking place on April 8.
They will present different spheres, including tourism, medical
cosmetology, confectionery, textile production, etc. 30 women are
going to participate in the forum from the Turkish side.
Enterprise Development and Market Competitiveness (EDMC) is a five-year
USAID funded project, launched in October 2011.
The goal of the project is to ensure sustainable economic growth in
Armenia through supporting the development of small and medium-size
enterprises (SMEs), increasing employment, promoting export and
income growth.
This is being done through four main components and a few other tools
at hand. EDMC's Value Chain Competitiveness Component works to enhance
SME competitiveness and productivity through the introduction of new
technologies and innovation, development of managerial skills and by
helping companies to expand existing markets and reach new ones.
The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs is a place for women entrepreneurs to
get tough questions answered. FWE is dedicated to providing visionary
women with the knowledge, support, and connections they need to become
wildly successful entrepreneurs.
The programs at FWE are designed to support and mentor women who
are venturing into new business opportunities. From start-up advice
to general tips and tricks, FWE leaders, advisors, and business
professionals are ready to share their expertise.
Founded by Christina Anthony in 2002, FWE has been encouraging,
educating, and mentoring women entrepreneurs for over a decade. With
140+ E-series program participants, 500 mentees partnered with mentors
through the HSBC Mentor Program, and a growing list of programs and
events offered throughout the year, the team at FWE, along with its
members, continues to see success.
