Ameria develops proposals to improve Armenia's pension system

YEREVAN, April 8. / ARKA /. The advisory unit of Ameria company is
developing a package of proposals to improve and increase the
efficiency of the pension system at the order of Armenian labor and
    social security ministry.

The proposals will deal with the reformation of the way used to
calculate pension benefits for long service, disability and also when
    a family loses the breadwinner.
The process of pension reform in Armenia was launched in 2011 through
the introduction of a voluntary funded pension system. From 1 January
2014 the funded pension system will become compulsory encompassing all
citizens born after 1st January 1974.

"Currently we are specifying the existing problems, along with looking
into the best international experience. Then Ameria will develop a
model that will best fit the situation in Armenia", Tigran Grigoryan,
a senior specialist of the advisory unit, was quoted as saying.

"We plan to complete the work on May 31 of this year", he said.

Founded in 1998, Ameria offers professional consulting services in
administrative, financial and legal areas. It works with public and
private sectors as well as international organizations in Armenia and
    the South Caucasus. -0-
