Georgia's Saakashvili breaks arm in Turkey bicycle accident

    April 8, 2013 - 19:44 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net - Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili has broken
his arm while riding a bicycle during a visit to Turkey,
    Democracy&Freedom Watch said.
He is undergoing medical treatment in Istanbul and all his meetings
    are postponed.
The accident was reported by Turkish media, and the president's
Facebook page later confirmed it with a brief message:
`Mikheil Saakashvili was injured during everyday exercise, while
riding a bicycle. He has triple fracture of arm. President had an
operation at the hospital in Istanbul.'
Saakashvili started his Turkey trip April 6, and has so far had a
    number of meetings.
But the visit took an unexpected turn as he broke his arm while out
    cycling in Antalya on Monday.
During the bike ride, the president drove off to a transport road and
crashed into a trailer. He also received other injuries. Saakashvili
was taken to Istanbul, where he remains in the hospital.
All events planned with the participation of the Georgian president
    have been postponed.
