RAFFI HOVANNISIAN'S MARCH TO TSITSERNAKABERD, CONDUCTION OF VIGIL BAD IDEA - RUBEN HAKHVERDYAN
14:00 ~U 10.04.13
Singer, composer Ruben Hakhverdyan speaking at a news conference today
said Raffi Hovannisian should not have marched to Tsitsernakaberd
memorial on April 9 and conduct a vigil leaving half of the people
on Baghramyan street, disappointing them.
Assessing yesterday's events in Yerevan, the inauguration of Serzh
Sargsyan and rally in the Liberty Square which transferred to
Baghramyan Ave, Hakhverdyan said clashes took place between the
police and people but the police officers have received special
'instructions' to be mild and not shoot. "We have a humanist police
chief you may consider this word in brackets or without. Serzh
Sargsyan's inauguration reminded a funny performance with his absent
glance...Raffi's speech was a good one, but there was much water in
it," he said.
Ruben Hakhverdyan voiced conviction that the rallies will continue as
the people cannot bear such situation long. "The volume of emigration
is terrible. People are not running from hunger, they are running
from this stinky lie," he said.
Hakhverdyan said Raffi is an honest person who does not engage in deals
with former authorities like Serzh Sargsyan who wants to fight against
corruption today. "Will he fight against himself?" Hakhverdyan asked.
