SYRIAN GOVERNMENT PROVIDED TERRITORY FOR FUNERALS TO ALEPPO-ARMENIANS

YEREVAN, APRIL 10, ARMENPRESS. Christian graveyard in Sheikh Maghsood
district of Aleppo appeared in a dangerous arena of clashes,
which flare up in the aforesaid district. The Press Secretary
of the Armenian National Prelacy of Aleppo Jirair Reisian stated
this in a conversation with "Armenpress". In addition he noted that
cemeteries of the three Armenian communities, including the Apostolic,
Evangelical, and Catholic communities are also situated in the same
graveyard. Taking into consideration the present situation the Syrian
Government provided territory for the funerals of the Christians. Also
the facebook page of the Armenians from Aleppo states that the funerals
will take place in the territory of Al Furkan region. The territory
is located in front of the former consulate of Armenia.
In accordance with the UN data clashes lasting for already two years
in Syria caused death of over 70 thousand people, including more than
five dozens Armenians.
