HRAPARAK: ARMENIAN DIASPORA INTERESTED IN ARMENIA'S DEMOCRATIC DEVELOPMENT

Ara Gochunyan, Editor of the Istanbul-based Zhamanak newspaper, which
is playing an active role in the local Armenian community's life,
was on the invitation list at Serzh Sargsyan's inauguration ceremony.
The newspaper turned to his for explanations for his presence at the
inauguration given the fact that the Armenian Diaspora is supporting
Raffi Hovannisian.
"Diasporic Armenians need a more moderate view of the domestic
political struggle in Armenia. The Armenian Diaspora is interested
in Armenia's democratic development. We can point out progress, but
Diasporic Armenians attach high importance to further democratization
and development of Armenian statehood."
