Chairman of the Democratic Homeland party Petros Makeyan made a speech
at a rally Heritage party leader Raffi Hovannisian held in Yerevan's
Freedom Square on Friday evening.
On April 9, all the people, first of all Armenia's authorities,
could see 90% of Armenia's people demanding resignation of the ruling
administration.
"On April 9, the authorities were frightened. That morning
New Armenia's inauguration showed disobedience to the ruling
administration," he said.
With respect to the events on April 9 evening, he said that it was
the right, but risky, step to march up Baghramyan Avenue. But that
step proved the ruling regime was unable to break the Armenian
people's will.
"However, the people realized we were unable to get rid of the ruling
regime on April 9. But we come here to struggle and lay the foundations
for our further activities aimed to overthrow the regime," he said.
