URUGUAY WILL BECOME THE SECOND STATE AFTER ARGENTINA

    Mon, 04/15/2013 - 17:03

On April 18 RA Government intends to give consent to the agreement
"Between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and Uruguay
eastern Republic on the abolishment of demand for entry visa for
    general passport holders".

In the event of an agreement Uruguay will become the second South
American state that will have free entry regime for Armenia. The
agreement "Between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and
Argentinian Republic on abolishment of the demand for entry visa for
general passport holders" was signed on September 15, 2011.

According to the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in particular, the
appropriateness of the agreement with Uruguay is guided by further
development of friendly relations between the two countries and the
promotion of mutual visits. Besides that, the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs mentioned absence of migration risks due to the territorial
    distance.

It is also mentioned that with the signing of the agreement major
increases and decreases are not expected in the RA state budget,
because very few citizens of Uruguay receive Armenian visa annually.
