ASSOCIATED PRESS MARKED APRIL 24 AS DAY OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IN ITS LIST OF HISTORICAL EVENTS

    20:37, 16 April, 2013

YEREVAN, APRIL 16, ARMENPRESS: Associated Press has presented the
list of world historical events which took place on April 24, in which
April 24, 1915 is marked as day of Armenian Genocide. "April 24, 1915
is the day when Armenian Genocide launched, as Armenian intellectual
and political leaders were slaughtered by Ottoman Empire," Armenpress
    quoted the agency.

German old saying "Change and improve are two different things"
is the slogan of April 24.

April 24 has been a rather important day in world history. "La
Marseillaise" was composed by Claude-Joseph Rouget de Lisle in
1792 the same day. In 1800 Library of Congress was established with
$5,000 allocation. In 1916 Easter rebellion of Irish against British
    occupation began.

In 1970 China PR launched its 1st satellite transmitting song "East is
Red". And finally in 2007 Iceland announced that Norway will shoulder
the defense of Iceland during peacetime.
