An Azerbaijani official serving at the Presidential Administration has
described writer and publicist Akram Aylisli's latest novel as a big
    evil of all times.

Commenting on the report about the Armenian translation of "Stone
Dreams", Ali Hasanov, the head of the Public and Political Affairs
Department at the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, said the
novel is a big harm to the country's national interests.

"The coming generations in Azerbaijan will experience the consequences
of the disgusting book's publication," he said, adding that Aylisli
views will give the Armenian side a trump card against Azerbaijan.

The novel, published in 2012, depicts the town of Aylis (the
historical Armenian Agulis) which was the author's birthplace. The
author dedicated the book to the memory of compatriots who "left a big
    grief behind".

The main heroes are Azerbaijanis of Agulis, who tried to lend a
helping hand to the Armenians during the pogroms in Sumgait and Baku.

The novel produced a bomb effect in Azerbaijan, with Presidsent Ilham
Aliyev depriving writer of his People's Writer title and nominal
pension. Aylisli's wife and son were later sacked from office.

Parliament members had even asked the president to deprive the author
of Azerbaijani citizenship and send him to Armenia.
