The 'Stone Dreams' novel will cause even more harm to the Azerbaijani
people and the national and state interests of Azerbaijan in the
future, Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Social
and Political Department Ali Hasanov said. He was commenting on the
translation of Akram Aylisli's novel into Armenian, Azeri media
report.
"The coming generations in Azerbaijan will suffer the consequences of
this disgusting work," he said, adding that in all times the Armenian
side will use the novel against Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani writer Akram Aylisli's novel "Stone Dreams" has been
recently published in Armenian. The novel has been translated by
Leonid Zilfugharyan and published by "Nork" publishing house.
The novel by the Azeri author provoked an uproar in Azerbaijan, with
Azeri lawmakers denouncing the work and protesters burning the
author's portrait outside his house.
According to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's decree, the writer
was stripped of his presidential pension and the honorary title of
People's Writer of Azerbaijan.
