A band that utilizes Armenian folk instruments and jazz orchestration
will play at Watertown's Armenian Library and Museum of America on
May 1 as part of Boston's Jazzweek.

MusAner's performance will feature selections from their second album,
"Once Upon a Time." which the New York Music Daily described as
"one of the most picturesque, intensely vivid albums of the year."

The group will welcome special guest performer and Berklee faculty
member Marcello Pelletteri on drums. The concert is presented as part
of Jazzweek, a week-long festival celebrating jazz.

Jazz fans will be familiar with MusAner, which has been active on
the Boston music scene for the past five years at such venues as
The Regattabar, The Beehive (Boston Center for the Arts) and Ryles
    Jazz Club.

Members include Ara Sarkissian, arrangements and piano; Martin
Haroutunian, folk instruments; Todd Brunel, soprano saxophone; Ken
Field, alto saxophone; Mario Cerra, tenor saxophone; Roberto Cassan,
accordion; Fabio Pirozzolo, percussion; Greg Loughman, bass; and
    Marcello Pelliteri, drums.

Admission is $15 and $12 for ALMA members (entry includes a glass of
wine and nibbles). Tickets can purchased at the door.
