Supporters of the opposition Heritage Party are holding a protest
demonstration outside the Prosecutor General's Office in support of
Heritage Deputy Chairman Armen Martirosyan, who was invited to the
Special Investigative Service today for a testimony in the April 9
standoff with the police on Baghramyan Avenue.
The group was carrying a scarecrow, which, they said, featured the
police officer who brutally beat the Heritage deputy chairman on
April 9.
Talking to A1+, David Sanasaryan, a senior member of the Heritage
party who is participating in the May 5 municipal elections in
Yerevan on the list of the Barev Yerevan alliance, said despite the
nice uniforms worn by the police officers, there are scarecrows among
them who disgrace the whole police system.
Throughout the protest, the group was vociferating, "No to vampire
policemen!" "Shame!"
Armen Martirosyan is still at the Special Investigative Service
