Azerbaijan will always support Turkey in the fight against the
so-called Armenian genocide, Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential
Administration's Social and Political Department Ali Hasanov told
Turkish TV channel TRT Haber on Wednesday.
"Azerbaijani people consider Turkey as the second motherland,"
Hasanov said. "Turkey's problems are ours and its joy is our joy."
"The real genocide was committed by Armenians in Khojaly," Hasanov
said. "That real genocide was a massacre of over 613 civilians in
Khojaly during a night just because they were Turkic people."
Speaking about the events of 1915, Hasanov said that one cannot be
responsible for the fact which did not occur.
"In reality, the events of 1915 were a betrayal and brutality committed
by Armenians against Turks," Hasanov noted.
Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey's predecessor the
Ottoman Empire, committed genocide in 1915 against Armenians living
in Anadolu.
Their efforts have achieved the recognition of the "Armenian Genocide"
by the parliaments of several countries.
