Turkish Foreign Ministry's says France's Education Minister's
statement about Armenian Genocide unacceptable
10:42 - 27.04.13
Turkish Foreign Ministry has described the statement made by French
Education Minister Vincent Peillon at the event dedicated to the
Armenian Genocide anniversary as unacceptable, Turkish Anadolu news
agency reports.
`Armenia's sons who became sons of France have enriched France with
their work and talent. Their memories are our memories, and we must
ensure that these memories be transferred to the coming generations
and the school and the education system have great role in it,' the
French minister stated.
Turkish Foreign Ministry claimed that the French minister tried to
blacken their history and sow hatred against Turks.
`Politicizing history and justice contradicts France's democratic
appearance. Such statements harm the historic relations and friendship
between Turkey and France,' the Turkish Foreign Ministry's statement
runs.
