Police chief's statement inspires positive hope - criminalist
16:47 - 26.04.13
An Armenian criminalist writing fiction about mobsters says the police
chief's Thursday interview with media representatives in Gyumri seems
to be signaling a landmark developments.
`I do want to believe that it is really so,' Sergey Galoyan told
Tert.am on Friday, adding that he very much wishes Vladimir
Gasparyan's speech to have serious consequences in future.
In his Thursday intervew, Gasparyan condemned the recent shoot-out
incident in the second largest city, saying that the two clans (the
family of former mayor Vardan Ghukasyan and the team supporting Martun
Ghukasyan, a parliament member of the Prosperous Armenia party) will
have either to come to their senses or be isolated from the society.
Asked whether he thinks there are no other mafia bosses in Gyumri, the
criminalist said that he considers the above two `clans' the major
mobsters.
`We are a small country, in terms of our territory, so it wouldn't be
normal to lead a vendetta,' he answered.
