TYPOGRAPHICAL MUSEUM TO BE ESTABLISHED IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN, AUGUST 1, ARMENPRESS: A typographical museum will be
established soon in Armenia, where the visitor will be provided
with the opportunities to get acquainted with the Armenian
typography-related documents and works. The National Library of the
Republic of Armenia has already developed the program. As reported
by Armenpress, the Director of the Armenian National Library Tigran
Zargaryan stated at the press conference: "The digitalization
process of the manuscripts has been launched with a great rate at
the National Library. We have begun digitalizing different kinds of
ancient manuscripts and newspapers.
One million pages have been digitalized. People even order what we
should digitalize".
Tigran Zargaryan expressed his pity that the process is not going
too fast, because of the lack of special professional devices costing
~@70,000.
"We cooperate with the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic
of Armenia, as they have two of such devices and we have only one,
which we have been recently granted by the Armenia Fund", - noted
the Director of the Armenian National Library Tigran Zargaryan.
The Library is usually attended by about 1000-1500 visitors and because
of the vacation season the number of the readers has considerably
decreased to 300-400. In this period the Library is more attended by
the readers from the Diaspora.
