YEREVAN, AUGUST 2, ARMENPRESS: Minister of Agriculture of the
Republic of Armenia Sergo Karapetyan on August 2 hosted ambassador
extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Russian Federation to Armenia
Ivan Volinkyn. "Armenpress" was informed about this from public
relations department of Agricultural ministry.
Congratulating the ambassador on occasion of holding the post the
minister stressed the traditional relations between two countries
in agricultural sphere highlighting the successes achieved in that
direction.
Thanking the minister for receiption the newly appointed
ambassador mentioned that he followed with great interest the
unprecedented indicators of apricot export from Armenia to Russia
and expressed opinion that Armenian apricot is the tastiest in
the world. The ambassador assured that he will try to be useful for
Armenian-Russian bilateral cooperation. Particularly he interested in
food self-sufficiency indicators and expressed the readiness of Russian
side to take part in programs of agricultural insurance installation.
Agricultural minister informed the ambassador that there are great
expectations from cooperation with "Rostelmash" factory in sense of
agricultural equipment. Reverberating to cooperation between two
countries the minister expressed hope that the existing obstacles
in a few spheres will be overcome. At the end ambassador Volinkyn
thanked the minister for receiption and said: "I bow before people
who create harvest from this rocky land and consider their work to
be heroic and them heroes".
