YEREVAN. - A group of taxi drivers have joined the youth that are
staging a sit-in across the Armenian capital city Yerevan Municipality
building.
Cab driver Artur Khachatryan told the aforesaid to Armenian
News-NEWS.am.
They had brought along envelopes-full of fines for illegal parking.
"I have not made so many [traffic] violations. Let us assume that
we made violations, but 43 fines in one month? I cannot pay [such
amount]," the taxi driver complained.
The cab drivers also protested that the city hall had sent them to
Road Police, and the latter had blamed it on the postal service.
Hence, the drivers decided to come and stage a sit-in across the
municipality, until the problem is resolved.
At present, there are fifteen cab drivers staging a sit-in.
