I think it would be more logical for the Turkic-speaking nations to
meet in the territories of their historical homeland - from Altay to
Central Asia, Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Eduard
Sharmazanov told ArmInfo on Saturday, when asked to comment on the
statement made by Turkish President Abdullah Gul during the 3rd Turkic
Council meeting in Gabala.
"I would be more acceptable for the world community if the Turkish
authorities organized in Istanbul a summit of the indigenous Christian
nations who suffered from genocide in the Ottoman and Kemalist
Turkeys," Sharmazanov said.
To remind, while speaking at the 3rd Turkic Council meeting in the
Azeri Gabala (the Armenian Kutkashen), Turkish President Abdullah Gul
expressed wish to see the next meeting held in Nagorno-Karabakh. He
once again complained of "the occupation of Azeri lands" and assured
his Azeri brothers that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is the key
problem for the whole Turkic world.
