POLICE: NEARLY 60 TONS OF HEMP HAS BEEN LIQUIDATED IN ARMENIA SINCE THE LAUNCH OF "HEMP-POPPY 2013" OPERATIVE AND PREVENTIVE MEASURES IN EARLY AUGUST

"Hemp-Poppy 2013" operative and preventive measures are held in
Armenia 5-25 August to expose and liquidate illegal hemp and poppy
plants in the country, the Police said.
As of August 19, the police have liquidated nearly 60 tons of hemp.
Nearly 60 cases of illegal drug turnover were exposed with 3kg
of marijuana, over 1.5 kg of desomorphin, 43.5 g of opium, and 25
tablets of psychotropic medicine being confiscated. In addition, 5
guns, 410 shells, 4 grenades, and 5 cold steel arms were exposed and
confiscated since the launch of the operative and preventive measures.
