AZERBAIJAN ANNOUNCES A 3-FOLD SUPERIORITY OVER ARMENIA IN MAJOR WEAPONS

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Defence has summarized the
current results of the country's defense capacity.
The Ministry informs that according to the British Institute of
International Strategic Studies, by early 2013 Azerbaijan has obtained
a multiple advantage over Armenia, which is still occupying 20% of
Azerbaijan's territory, on weapons systems. So, advantage in tanks
and combat aircrafts is 3 times and anti-tank systems 10 times in
favor of Azerbaijan.
The Defence Ministry links such changes in the military balance with
the implementation of 10-year policy of Azerbaijani President Ilham
Aliyev. The MoD points out that country's defense spending which
totaled $160 million in 2003, reached $3.73 billion in 2013.
