KARABAKH OFFICIAL:SARSAG RESERVOIR CAN BE DAMAGED ONLY IF AZERBAIJAN DECIDES TO ATTACK IT
August 29, 2013 | 01:21
STEPANAKERT. - Azerbaijan is trying to speculate on the issue of
Sarsag reservoir, spokesperson for Karabakh President Davit Babayan
said commenting on Azerbaijani media reports.
Earlier the Nagorno-Karabakh government expressed readiness to start
dialogue with Azerbaijan on joint management of water resources. In
response Azerbaijani side complained to PACE about "Armenians whose
actions will lead to a humanitarian disaster."
Commenting on the recent actions, Babayan said Azerbaijani claims
are absolutely groundless.
"Instead of complaining to various agencies, majority of which have
no mandate to tackle such problems, Azerbaijan should better pick up
enough courage to appeal to the Karabakh side," Babayan told Armenian
News-NEWS.am.
As to possible damage of the reservoir, spokesperson noted that it
could suffer damage "only if Azerbaijan starts bombing it."
Member of Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Elhan Suleymanov has sent
letters to PACE President, Secretary General and Bureau members,
complaining about the situation with the reservoir.
