Prime minister: Armenia's IT sector accounts for 5% of GDP

The information technology sector of Armenia accounts for 5% of GDP,
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said at an IT business forum in
Dilijan.
In his words, the sector employs 7 thousand highly-qualified
specialists. The prime minister stressed that improvement of
professional skills and knowledge will become a driving force in the
future.
He informed those present that two thousand new specialists join the
IT sector each year, but their number will grow. There are plans to
reduce the number of tuition fee-exempt students at law and economics
departments of Armenian universities and increase the number of such
students at IT departments.
