Rosneft, Pirelli, Oil Techno sign memorandum on styrene-butadiene rubber JV

Russia's oil giant Rosneft (MOEX: ROSN), Italy's Pirelli Tyre Russia
S.p.A and Armenia's Oil Techno have signed a memorandum to create a
joint venture to produce styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), Rosneft said
in a statement.
The SBR produced at the factory will be used to make eco-friendly tires.
The memorandum states that Rosneft intends to be the leading investor
and shareholder of the factory. Pirelli has expressed its readiness to
buy the finished product. Additionally, the Russian and Italian
companies will conduct research and development activities concerning
the production of innovative rubber.
Rosneft has also signed a contract to supply the Rosneft-Oil Techno
joint venture with petroleum products. In hope of participating more
deeply in all aspects of the venture's value chain, the companies have
begun considering possibilities to acquire assets in the wholesale and
retail trade of petroleum products, including the aviation fuel
business and facilities for storing petroleum products.
