The Heritage party's leader, who stands as a leading opposition
candidate in the upcoming presidential polls, spoke of his rural
development program at a meeting with voters in Armavir earlier today.
Raffi Hovhannisyan particularly highlighted the need of investment
and loan programs as key tools for developing rural communities and
raising their economic effectiveness.
"A village today needs favorable conditions, first of all for
implementing privileged investment and loan programs, boosting
farming economies, applying various forms of production partnership,
investing affordable agricultural equipments and other services,
organizing the production of fertilizers locally, as well as creating
a legislative anchor offering the best regulatory mechanisms for
the sector. In short, the state must always stand by the villager,
as the village ensures the lion's share of the population's natural
growth. The village guards the borders and, last but not the least,
provides raw supplies for food procession," Hovhannisyan said.
At the end, the Heritage leader expressed belief that the Armavir
residents will actively vote in the February 18 polls, performing
their civic duty in a free and unrestrained environment.
Hovhannisyan later visited the Sardarapat Memorial Complex to pay
respect to the hero martyrs killed in the big battle for their
homeland's liberation.
