YEREVAN, JANAURY 30, ARMENPRESS. A world-famous German pianist Bernd
Glemser will give a concert in "Aram Khachaturyan" Concert Hall,
Yerevan, on February 1. As reports "Armenpress" the Director of the
State Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia Ruzanna Sirunyan stated that
the orchestra starts 2013 with new incentive, ideas and musician.
Among other things Director of the State Philharmonic Orchestra of
Armenia Ruzanna Sirunyan noted: "The whole program of the concert has
a quite rich program. We are considering performance of Brukner's
symphony. The current year is noteworthy due to the anniversary of
such outstanding composers as Wagner and Verdi."
Bernd Glemser (born 1962, Durbheim) is a German pianist. A student of
Vitaly Margulis, in 1989 he became Germany's youngest piano professor
at Saarbrucken's Musikhochschule. He has recorded major pieces by
Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Schumann, Scriabin, and Tchaikovsky as well
as pieces by Liszt, Tausig, Godowski and Busoni. In 2003 Glemser was
decorated with the Bundesverdienstkreuz. The pianist has particular
affinity for the works of Sergey Rachmaninov. This makes Glemser the
obvious choice for Wolfgang Sawallisch to have invited to perform the
composer's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Philadelphia Orchestra. The
ensemble, which recorded with Rachmaninov during the composer's
lifetime, celebrated its 100th birthday with this work.
